Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.

StayWhole staff will be inviting the community to different walking trails and parks to explore our native wildlife and have time for grounding and reflection.
StayWhole’s Athletic Program is to give that community a voice to speak on the toll of the combination of stress in athletics. Some of the board members were a part of this community and from experiences feel that more should be done at all levels of athletics. Our goal is to bring attention to this population which will allow them to share their stories. Stories about hard-working athletes, who show no signs of instability, resorting to negative coping mechanisms must be lessened. Many tools and mental practices will be shared that will be beneficial in everyday living and on their playing field and/or court.

The Athletic Division is home for athletes from all locations, and levels. Even graduated athletes; who can help to spread awareness of mental health in sports. The high school and college chapters of StayWhole will have opportunities to be involved in events consisting of conventions, life skills, and more.
